The Jacksonville Center for Sexual Health is proud to offer voice therapy with Lauren Meffen MA CCC/SLP, CLT.

The goal of voice therapy will be to establish an authentic voice that matches each client’s perception of self. Through dedication, learning vocal hygiene and establishing a healthy at home regimen, goals of gender congruent voicing can be reached.

What Can I Expect From Voice Therapy?

The first visit of therapy we work to establish your goals and begin exercises (in clinic and at home goals). You will leave the session with digital practice video link from your clinician and recorded voice samples to demonstrate modeling the home exercise practice. The role of daily home practice is essential in reaching goals. In clinic, we will refine and revise the home program through handouts, exercises and education to find your authentic voice.

Your speech language pathologist will work with pitch, rate, resonance, intonation, and pragmatics (verbals and non verbals) to obtain an authentic gender congruent voice.

Sessions with Lauren are $100 for 45 minutes. She currently sees clients on Sundays. While these services are usually not covered by insurance, we recommend contacting your insurance carrier to see if they offer any coverage.
