Please note: While our practice originally served clients seeking counseling for issues related to sexual health, we have expanded. We now serve clients seeking therapy for a wide range of mental health issues.

Noelle Pomeroy, PhD, LMHC

N-PomeroyDr. Noelle Pomeroy is the founder of the Jacksonville Center for Sexual Health.  She is a Clinical Sexologist and Licensed Mental Health Counselor who received her doctorate at the American Academy of Clinical Sexologists. She earned her Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of North Florida and her undergraduate degree at the University of Michigan. Dr. Noelle’s clinical specialties include: gender identity, male sexual dysfunction (i.e. erectile and ejaculation issues), female sexual dysfunction (i.e. low libido, anorgasmia, and vaginismus), and pornography addiction.  Dr. Noelle has served as a “sex expert” on several local radio and television programs as well as a columnist for Fox News Opinion.  She also hosts a podcast that combines sex therapy and her enthusiasm for film: Reel Sex with Dr. Noelle.

Dr. Noelle accepts Tricare insurance as a non-network provider, United Health Care, Aetna, and Blue Cross.  She offers video and in-person sessions.

Robert Zeglin, PhD, NCC, CST, LMHC

R-ZeglinDr. Robert Zeglin is new to Jacksonville, after living and working in Washington, DC and New Jersey. He has a PhD in Counseling from the George Washington University and a MA in Counseling from Montclair State University. He is a full-time faculty member in a Clinical Mental Health Counseling Master’s program in Northeast Florida and is the founding Director of the Community Sexual Health Education and Research Initiative. He is also the founding Editor of the Journal of Counseling Sexology & Sexual Wellness. Dr. Z works with a variety of sexual health and wellness issues, but his specialties include consensual non-monogamy, LGBTQ-affirmative care, and masculinity and femininity.

Dr. Zeglin offers in-person therapy and is not in-network with any insurance plans.

April Young, PhD, LMHC, CST

Dr. April Young is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Certified Sex Therapist.  With a background in law enforcement, Dr. Young received her Master’s degree in Counseling and Psychology from Troy University and her doctorate in Clinical Sexology from the International Institute of Clinical Sexology.  Dr. Young is available for video sessions only.

Dr. Young accepts Tricare insurance as a non-network provider, United Health Care, and Aetna.

Brett Bennett, LCSW

Brett Bennett is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). Candice received her Master’s degree in Social work from Florida State University. She has years of experience working with children and adults in Jacksonville.  Brett comes to our practice after spending nearly a decade at Child Guidance Center.  Brett work with individuals and families on a variety of mental health concerns including ADHD, anxiety, and depression. 

Brett accepts Tricare insurance as a non-network provider, United Health Care, Florida Blue, Cigna and Aetna.  She offers video and in-person sessions.

Candice Carta, LCSW, CGCS

Candice Carta is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Certified Grief Counseling Specialist. Candice received her Master’s degree in Social work from Florida State University and undergraduate degrees from University of North Florida. She has years of experience working with children and adults in Jacksonville and the surrounding areas to address the stresses of life, loss, and a variety of mental health concerns including ADHD, anxiety, and depression.

Casey Wylie, LMHC

Casey Wylie is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor.  A native of Florida, Casey  earned a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Counseling from the University of North Florida.  An extensive background in crisis intervention and inpatient care, Casey has a passion for working with LGBTQ clients and families going through varying periods on their lives.

Casey accepts Tricare insurance as a non-network provider, United Health Care, Cigna, Blue Cross, and Aetna.  She offers video and in-person sessions.

Jacob Gandy, LMHC

Jacob Gandy is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor . He received his Masters Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Jacksonville University, and his undergraduate degree from The University of North Florida. He has experience working with LGBTQIA teens and adults, anxiety, depression, life transitions, social skills, coping skills, relationships, and parenting.

Maia Cochran, LCSW

Maia Cochran is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Maia received her Master’s degree in Social Work from Florida Atlantic University. Maia has a passion for working with adolescents and adults struggling with trauma, life-transitions, issues of self-esteem/self-worth, family conflicts, depression and anxiety.

Maia sees clients ages 11 and up.  She accepts United Health Care, Cigna, Florida Blue and Aetna.  She offers video and in-person sessions.

Natalie McKee, LMHC

Natalie McKee is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. Natalie earned a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Counseling from Florida State University. Natalie works with individuals 18 and up. She also works with couples. As a Latina and bilingual (Spanish) counselor, Natalie is sensitive to cultural and minority issues.


Natalie accepts Tricare insurance as a non-network provider, United Health Care, Cigna, Florida Blue, and Aetna. She offers video and in-person sessions. For couples, sessions are in-person only.

Megan McKenzie, LMHC

Megan McKenzie is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. She received her Masters Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Springfield College, and her undergraduate degree from Florida State University. She has years of experience working with LGBTQ+ adults, teens, and those who love them. Her other areas of experience include depression, anger, trauma, self-esteem issues, phase of life stress, relationships, family counseling, and gender and sexuality issues.

Megan offers video and in-person sessions.  She is in-network with Aetna, United, Blue Cross, and Cigna insurances.  She is a non-network Tricare provider.

Rachel Moran-Brown, LMHC

Rachel Moran-Brown is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. Rachel earned a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from University of North Florida and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from CUNY – Baruch.  Rachel works with individuals 10 and up.  She is passionate about working with clients seeking a non-Eurocentric approach to therapy.

Marykate Wihnyk, LMHC

Marykate Wihnyk is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor.  A native of Florida, Marykate graduated from the University of Florida with Bachelor’s degree in Psychology.  She earned a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Counseling from the University of North Florida.  Marykate works with individuals age 12 to 103.  She has experience with people who are struggling with depression, anxiety, sexual and gender identity issues, academic difficulties, interpersonal relationships, and behavioral issues.

Stephanie Skinner, LMHC

Stephanie Skinner is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor.  She is a Florida native who earned her Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University and her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Flagler College. Stephanie has been providing therapy services since 2013.  Her passion is working with individuals and families to address relationship issues, life transitions, anxiety, depression, trauma, and other emotional & behavioral concerns.

Stephanie accepts Tricare Standard/Select, Aetna, Cigna, United Health Care, Blue Cross Blue Shield.  She offers in-person and video sessions.

Thuydy Nguyen, LMFT

Thuydy Nguyen is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. She received her Masters Degree in Marriage and Family Counseling/Therapy from Capella University. She is currently a pursuing a Ph.D. in sexology from Modern Sex Therapy Institute. She has experience working with individuals and couples who are navigating challenges in their relationships, intimacy, sexual matters, and exploring alternative sexualities. She works with both individuals and couples who are part of alternative lifestyles, such as BDSM, kink, ethical non-monogamy (ENM), swinging, polyamory, as well as members of the LGBTQ+ community. She has provided therapeutic assistance to a diverse range of individuals, couples, and families dealing with substance abuse, dual diagnosis, PTSD, complex trauma, anxiety, depression, stress, anger, grief, sexual abuse, and other related challenges.

Keesha Williams, Registered Mental Health Counseling Intern

Keesha Williams is a Registered Mental Health Counseling Intern with the State of Florida, currently under the supervision of Dr. Pomeroy. She received her Masters Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Northwestern University.  She has experience working with LGBTQ+ adults.  Her other areas of experience include depression, anger, trauma, self-esteem issues, phase of life stress, relationships, and gender and sexuality issues.

Keesha offers video and in-person sessions.  She is able to accept Aetna and Cigna insurance via “Incident to” billing through her supervisor in accordance with Aetna and Cigna policy.

Kameela Davi George, Registered Mental Health Counseling Intern

Kameela Davi Geroge is a Registered Mental Health Counseling Intern with the State of Florida, currently under the supervision of Dr. Pomeroy. She received her Masters Degree in Mental Health Counseling from the University of North Florida.    She also earned her Mental Health Sexology Certificate during her graduate work.

Kameela offers video and in-person sessions.  She is able to accept Aetna and Cigna insurance via “Incident to” billing through her supervisor in accordance with Aetna and Cigna policy.

Rosalyn Zacarias, Registered Mental Health Counseling Intern

Rosalyn Zacarias is a Registered Mental Health Counseling Intern with the State of Florida, currently under the supervision of Dr. Pomeroy. She received her Masters Degree in Mental Health Counseling from the University of North Florida.    Rosie also earned her Mental Health Sexology Certificate during her graduate work and did extensive research on sexual curiosity in bisexual women.

Rosie offers video and in-person sessions.  She is able to accept Aetna and Cigna insurance via “Incident to” billing through her supervisor in accordance with Aetna and Cigna policy.
